Concert for the Climate is this Saturday September 28th 11am – 6pm

ConcertForTheClimateLogo This Saturday (September 28th), the Project of Heartland Renewable Energy Society is sponsoring a FREE concert/action from 11am – 6pm at the Kaw Point Riverfront Park. The event has two stages for speakers and bands, a pavilion for workshops on energy conservancy and solar energy, among others, a children’s activity area, and another area for alternative fuel vehicles. The main speakers are Bill McKibben and Robert F. Kennedy Jr. along with Kansas City, Kansas Mayor Mark R. Holland. Bill McKibben is an author, activist, and founder of 350.org. His first book The End of Nature has been published in over 20 languages. Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is president of the Waterkeeper Alliance and has been named a “Hero of the planet” by Time Magazine. The bands that will be playing include Soular and She’s a Keeper among others. For more information go to www.concertfortheclimate.org .
